Hi there,
I love the vantage theme. I use it fore my site crossx.nl. But something went wrong after having an update with the Widgets bundle. At first I activated all the widgets. Immediately my site had gone blank. Than I activated them one by one, to check which one causes the trouble. Three widgets get me in trouble. It could by becouse I used those to make my site in an older version (wild guess)
The white screen problem comes after activating:-
-Button
-Call to Action
– Contact Form
The rest does work great. But I need the button as well as the call to action to fix my site.
There are no other plugins running that interferer in these three widgets
What can I do?
URL: http://www.crossx.nl
Digging deeper, I found out that the widget names are different in the widget bundle and the page builder widgets. The both have a button. One named SiteOrigin_Widget_Button_Widget, other named so-button-widget
Could this be the problem?
Hi Maarten
Sorry to hear about the hassle. Please, can you try testing with only SiteOrigin plugins activated and see if the problem persists. Instructions below:
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
Done that, same problem.
The page builder, as well as the widget bundle know the button, call to action and contact widget. I think becouse they overlap and don’t have the same name, there is a reading problem for wordpress. When I switch off these 3 widgets in the widget bundle, those problems do not appear.
There was a naming issue with the Call to Action widget. The result was that CTA widgets showed up as missing. This happened after the Widgets Bundle 1.5 release and was corrected 48hrs later in the 1.5.1 release. This is the first we’re hearing of another naming related issue since then.
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
[email protected]
Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

Apologies for the hassle. Please, could you manually set our password and send it to us using the Private Reply checkbox bottom right. Not sure why, but I’m having issues setting it the normal way. Thanks.

Thanks. This is the first time I’ve seen this. Super strange. Can you please turn on wp_debug for us? Login to your server via FTP or Hosting File Manager and download wp-config.php. Locate the following line:
and change it to:
That’ll print any errors on the front end of the site, allowing us to pin point what’s happening.
Thanks
Done it:-)

Thanks.
In wp-config.php, please, try increaing the PHP memory limit to 256.
https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
This can be done underneath the WP Debug constant:

Apologies for the hassle. There might have been an issue with the Test button widget on the home page. After removing it, re-adding and removing all seems well.
Please, go to Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets and turn off the ones you don’t need if that’s the case. I just turned them all on to test.
If anything else happens, please, let me know.
Thanx for the help!
In case it happens to other website’s, what should I do to solve the problem?
This shouldn’t happen again, I don’t expect it to. If it does, please, let me know. Happy to help :)

Taking a look now…
This is a private message.
I’m not quite certain what the problem is here yet.
Errors continue to be thrown with Page Builder and the Widgets Bundle de-activated. I recommend:
1. Update all plugins and WordPress if there is a pending update.
2. De-activate all plugins.
3. Switch to a default theme like Twenty Fifteen.
The errors should have stopped. Now slowly add back your theme and then one by one, each plugin required.
Is’nt it the same problem as before with Crossx.nl you think?
—
It doesn’t appear to be the same issue. Errors are being thrown without any SiteOrigin plugins active.
It can’t be, because the website worked, until I activated the widget bundle. Same as with CrossX.nl. When I de-activate it, (and stop debug mode) the problems are solved. But I’d like to use the widget bundle here as well

If you’re online now, please, could you turn off debug. Thanks.
You can leave debug on for the moment. Here is where I’m at:
1. All plugins are off except for:
Widgets Bundle
Page Builder
Black Studio
Meta Slider
2. For the moment I’ve removed the Button widget on this page:
Private Snippet
That can be restored later from Revisions.
I’ve removed the sidebar buttons widgets. For safe keeping those had data as follows:
Private Snippet
Given the above plugin situation that I outlined and the above widgets removed we now have no front end errors presenting.
Please, can you re-activate your plugins one by one and let me know when the errors present again.
Debug is off

Thanks. Did you perhaps see my message that came after my debug off request? Please, see above.
