Problem with upgrade version 1.3.7 for North Theme

8 years ago · Last reply by Keith Totten 8 years ago

I upgraded my North Theme from 1.3.6 to version 1.3.7 and I assumed the speed of the new version was to correct a bug in 1.3.6 where on scrolling a white margin appeared full width below the header and above the footer. The new version has corrected this bug but in doing so has removed the full width SiteOrigin Hero display from immediately under the header. The SiteOrigin Hero widget still shows up when viewing the homepage in page builder, but does not display on ‘visit site’.

This is an urgent problem and does not do your reputation any good, especially when I think that 1.3.6 was to fix a bug in 1.3.5.

I hope you can offer a solution to this problem.

Cheers

Keith

    Hi Keith

This problem sounds like it might be a caching issue. We’ve been seeing this come up for changes to the hero image widget.

The first thing to check is server-side caching through plugins like W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, etc. If you have any of these caching/performance plugins installed, try clearing their cache and see if that helps.

It might also be browser cache. Try clearing your browser cache, and then refreshing the page to see if that helps.

You can read more about this sort of issue on the WordPress codex.

    hi Greg

Thanks for taking the time to respond so quickly. All is well! I remove the hero image widget and re-entered it and it’s fine. It probably was as you suggest a caching problem although I don’y use a caching widget.

    Thanks again
