After updating to the latest theme and WordPress version, page builder no longer works. When I try to edit a widget inside of a page that uses Page Builder, the screen greys and there is a clear band that runs across the middle of the page. The text box pops up and I can see the editable content, but I can’t touch it. I have to refresh the page to get off the screen. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Hi, I Work Here

    This might be a plugin conflict issue. You can try following this guide.

    https://siteorigin.com/troubleshooting/identifying-plugin-conflicts/

    Or else, which theme are you using?

  2. 11 years, 4 months ago Chris Bindernagel

    I’m having a very similar issue. After updating to WordPress 3.8.1, any attempt at editing within a page that uses Page Builder gives me a grey transparent screen. I can see the editing box and can move around in it and type in it if I use only the keyboard, but my mouse won’t get a response from any of the buttons. I haven’t changed any plugins, only the WordPress version. The theme is Twenty Ten.

    The same issue. Grey transparent screen, only keyboard works, mouse not. Also can’t add any new widgets to panels. Any idea? I tried to disable all the widgets, but it did not help.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Something you can try is refresh your browser cache to ensure that the latest versions of all CSS and Javascript is being loaded.

    But, it’d still be worth following the guide I posted. Even if you didn’t update any other plugins, just updating WordPress to 3.8.1 might break another plugin in a way that breaks Page Builder.

    Same problem here. Trying to use history of copies, but then all pictures are lost…

    Hi, I Work Here

    If anyone wants me to take a look, please feel free to create a temporary admin account for me. Just email the details to Private Snippet.

    Be sure to include the username, password, site URL as well as a reference to this ticket with your name/username. I juggle quite a few of these admin details so this is the only way I can keep track of all of them :)

    Me too! since updating various plugins the PageBuilder plugin has become inoperative e.g. I can duplicate widgets but when I go to edit the contents nothing gets saved. I have emailed you the details of a temporary admin account and would value your help Greg.
    Cheers for now!

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Mike. Can you confirm that you’ve tried disabling your plugins? So far, with all the installs that I’ve checked, this has been able to solve just about every issue that comes up. If this still doesn’t solve the problem for you, I’ll gladly take a look.

      It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to run these tests.

    I finally got my site offline to be able to mess around with it, but I still can’t rid myself of the issue, even with all plugins except Page Builder disabled. Has anyone found a solution? I’d love to let you look at it Greg, but it’s not really “my” site, so I’m a little leery of letting someone else onto it (no offense!).

    Hi Greg,

    I’ve installed the plugin Page Builder by SiteOrigin. My theme is TopBest. When I activate the plugin, the slider on the Home page goes away. I can’t see it when I turn on the plugin. Everything above the ”shadow” at the bottom of the slider is not visible and does not work. Why would this be occuring and how can I use Page Builder and have the Home page slider activated? If not, can I deactivate Page Builder just for the Home page? How?

    Thank you

    Hello, my theme is Vantage Premium, but when I updated WordPress 4.0, its home page disappeared. I updated the Page Builder provided by SiteOrigin just now. But, there’s no change yet. Do I have to wait more?

    Thank you.

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Heesun

      All issues should be resolved once upgraded to Page Builder 1.5.3. If you have upgraded and are still finding a problem please temporarily de-activate all non-SiteOrigin plugins and re-test.

      For further assistance please open a new support thread and we’ll help out there:

      Thanks

    Hi Greg, I sent you an email with the details to log in – I am having a similar issue since updating my wordpress. I have disabled all the plugins twice and have lost all the customization, as well. I am in the midst of promoting my book and really need help to figure out why I can update using page builder. When I make a change, I click “done” and it returns it to a blank screen and the only way to exit from it is to click the x to close – and it doesn’t save any of the new changes. I have tried everything I thought could be wrong. I checked the database, the files, error logs, and nothing unusual has happened that I can see. I have only added two new plugins in the past few months – so I also deleted them – besides the deactivation of everything else – to see if that helped. Still nothing. All the other plugins – except for two or three – where already installed prior to buying your premium theme and page builder and I never had an issue until now. Let me know via email your thoughts. Take care… :)

    I’m having difficulty updating, I’ve currently got Vantage Premium 2.2.3, but it keeps saying I need an update and I can’t find where to get it.

    • 10 years, 6 months ago Andrew Misplon
      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Matthias

      We very occasionally see this. 2.2.3 is the most up to date version of Vantage. We think the problem can sometimes be caused by caching. How long has it been happening for?

      If you wouldn’t mind, please could you answer my above question in a new thread: Page: New Thread

      Thanks

    I fixed this in the Fusion Plugin, it’s a Z-Index thing.

    application.css

    Changed this:
    .ui-widget-overlay{
    background:#000 !important;
    opacity:0.7 !important;
    position:fixed !important;
    z-index: 1001 !important;

    To this:
    .ui-widget-overlay{
    background:#000 !important;
    opacity:0.7 !important;
    position:fixed !important;
    z-index: 1 !important;

    Seems to have done the trick.

      Hi Rod

      Thanks for the update. Appreciate the info.

    Hi Rod,
    I want to try your fix but I don’t know where to find that application.css file. I don’t see it anywhere in the fusion-core folder. I only see a shortcodes.css file present.

    It took me a while but I finally found it but changing the z-index didn’t work for me.

    Hello,
    after WordPress update (4.5.3) I lost Page Builder layout in posts and pages, all the page builder structure(HTML) has moved into the text area and there is no more the Page builder tab on the top right of the editor area, the page Builder widget has moved to the bottom of the page with no data.
    BUT if I create a new post, the Page Builder tab appears normally as a tab on the top right corner of the editor area.

    it’s a nightmare for me as I lost all page builder architecture on all existing posts and pages…

    any idea to help me ?

    thanks a lot for your support
