I’ve hit a bit of trouble with the Vantage theme preview functions and it appears to be linked to how IIS 7.5 handles POST (and apparently GET) requests to URLs
The path in the preview URLs don’t have a trailing / which causes the web server to throw up a HTTP 405 error upon submission.
Behaviour/reason best described here: http://forums.iis.net/post/1912220.aspx
I’ve found that if I extract the URL used for the home page preview function and modify the path to ensure it has a trailing slash, the preview renders fine. I suspect the other preview functions would behave properly the trailing slash were there as well since their URLs are formatted in a similar way.
This behaviour doesn’t _appear_ to be consistent across all versions of IIS but I can’t say for sure.
Take care,
Scott
Hi Scott
Sorry to hear you’ve been running into problems here. We unfortunately have very little to no Windows experience on our side. Vantage doesn’t control the url structure, to confirm this you could try creating a new page with a default theme like Twenty Fourteen activated and see if you the result is different. If there is anything we can do to help from a theme perspective we’ll certainly pitch in, I unfortunately don’t believe that’s the case here.
