Premium (and free) Pitch Project Archive Not Working out of Demo Mode

I use Pitch and it’s a great theme. However I have wrestled with getting the Projects Archive template to work, both in the free, and upgraded versions ( I upgraded solely to see if this would make it work and will be seeking a refund if unable to get resolution on this in the next day or two.)

If Demo Mode is enabled I can see the intended result of a page full of project featured images and excerpts, but when disabled, my archive is empty (front page lineup works). After I assign it a page named “Projects” with the project-archive.php template in the theme settings it has an additional nav menu listing and that page also does not display any archive.

I have found a few threads with others having the same issue and see very little response from site origin. One suggests adding some code to loop-projects.php and this did not resolve my issue.

Additionally I found a bug in the search on this site. When searching the forums here for “project archive” I received two pages of results, but when trying to view the second page, my search terms were combined to create ‘productarchive’ as the search term, which returned a zero results search page instead of the second page of actual results.

Uh, wow. I wish I had seen this (hundreds of spam comments from Oct 2013 through Feb 2014 on the thread) yesterday:

Says a lot. Sitepoint….are you out there?

I have been able to (unsatisfactorily) resolve the issue. I consider this a temporary fix.
I have been using the Design Approval System Plugin by another plugin maker. It’s custom taxonomies conflict with this theme.
Unfortunately that plugin is crucial to my business operation the paid version is far more than I spent on this theme, so I would still appreciate any help from Sitepoint in altering the custom post types so that I may use both. I will also address this with the plugin maker. I also assume this problem will be true for any of the project management plugins out there that use the word ‘projects’ as a custom taxonomy,

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Brandi

So sorry we weren’t able to reply sooner.

If you’re committed to Design Approval System Plugin it might be worth taking a look at shifting over to our Vantage theme. We could migrate your license at no extra charge:

Theme: Free, multi-purpose, responsive WordPress theme from SiteOrigin

Changing Pitch’s custom post type setup is unfortunately outside of the support we’re able to offer and would be considered a custom development task. Vantage can be configured to look similar to Pitch and is a lot more customisable. Let me know if you’d like to consider that.

(The desk.com link you referenced in your second post is our old support system. It shouldn’t be online. Thanks for bringing that up. We’ll attend ASAP).

    Hi Andrew,
now it's my turn to extend apologies for a tardy reply. My father has had two heart attacks and been hospitalized, and I have been out of town and ignoring anything else.
I understand the custom post type would be a custom development task and appreciate the offer to switch. That's very flexible of you. Could I TRY it out for a week? If it works for me, great, if not, switch back to Pitch?
It's not exactly what I wanted, and I have no need for the page builder aspect, but I have the ability to code it to what I want, and it offers a nice look on it's own in the meantime while I fiddle with it.

Either way I may continue to look at changing the custom post type setup with Pitch just for my own enrichment, if you don't mind. But sure, I'd be interested in at least a 1-3 day test of Vantage to see if it will suit my needs.
What do I need to do to make that happen?
