I’ve got a problem where posts are losing their formatting, specifically they aren’t starting a newline for new paragraphs. This happens on the posts page and also in a post loop widget in the sidebar. It also happens for returned search results. The text is all one long paragraph even though when I check in the text editor the tags are present.
I haven’t had this problem before but I recently upgraded to WordPress 4.4.1. Maybe it’s a conflict between the Vantage Premium theme and the new version of WordPress?

Thanks. Unfortunately, this does seem to be a filtering challenge with the Post Loop widget. I’ll log the bug report now but it’s not something we’ll be able to hotfix. Sorry, wish we could.
You could perhaps try the Blog widget in Adi’s plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/widgets-for-siteorigin/.
Thanks, I’ll try that plugin instead. However, a post plugin bug wouldn’t explain the same loss of formatting problem in the returned search results would it?

Thanks for the update.
The formatting isn’t being parsed through the widget. I don’t believe it’s a theme issue. You can temporarily switch themes to confirm. Vantage isn’t handling that parsing. When the excerpt is outputted into the sidebar the additional paragraphs, lists etc. are all in one paragraph, Vantage isn’t handling that.
You can switch themes without losing any data or settings. It’s a quick test to run.
Unfortunately, the lack of formatting being parsed through our Post Loop widget is something our devs would need to look into as a bug report. It’s not something we’re able to hotfix here in the support department. So for now, the best bet would be to find another post loop widget that was perhaps not suffering from the same challenge.
