Post Loop Query-not working

By WholeLifeWell, 9 years ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 9 years ago.

I use Page Builder and Vantage on 2 sites now. On one site the query works and limits posts. On the other it doesnt.
What kind of troubleshooting can I do? I cant figure out why it wont filter at all. It just displays all posts.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi WholeLifeWell

    Is it the Posts Per Page field that isn’t taking effect or are you using a query argument in the Additional field to restrict the loop in some way?

    Query Argument.

    Please send the argument through so we can take a look.

    I sent this immediately and now I dont see it. Great. Ive been waiting on this. Uggghhh

    tag_id=151

    Ive tried all sorts of combinations, no luck. I have this working on other sites and copied the query to this site, and changed the ID number. I actually dont WANT 151, but Im just trying to test.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Try:

    tag=slug

    Eg:

    tag=apple

    Nothing. My slug is 100-days-success-stories and it isnt filtering in any way.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Do category queries work?

    cat=x

    Where x is the category ID.

    I dont use categories for posts. I tried putting in a category and updated 1 post to use the category and tried cat=160 and no luck.

    Hi, I Work Here

    I’m not sure what might be causing this problem. Some standard troubleshooting steps would be:

    1. Dashboard > Updates: run all available updates.

    2. Temporarily de-activate all plugins not made by SiteOrigin and re-test.

    3. Switch over to a default theme like Twenty Fourteen and see if there is any change.
