possible forum bugs

Title ” ?Bug?? recent posts reject replies: “Sorry, comments are closed…”” was rejected as being more than 12 words!

ALSO–When I posted a title longer than 12 words, SO offered me premium support, then lost the post and warned me titles can only be 12 words.

Is it using special chars in title?

I tried to post the following, but got the error message: “Sorry, comments are closed for this item.” But there was one reply about an hour ago, and it’s not obviously marked ‘closed’…

This was what I posted:

I’m NOT an expert, but… it occurs to me you need an email account set up with your website domain to SEND from.
So if your website is “MyDomain.com” then

E.g., [email protected]
Have you set up an EMail account on your domain?

Have you checked your DreamHost email ([email protected]) to see that you CAN send and receive mail with it?

Being an almost complete newb myself, I think of the very simple failures…
Good luck!!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi VWFeature,

I’ve logged your feedback regarding the thread titles and it should hopefully be one of the things fixed in the next round of forum updates.

Regarding your forum reply, do you happen to know what thread you were trying to reply too? I know it was obviously a while ago but I’m unsure why your reply would have been rejected. :(

Title-of what I was responding to
    “Not Receiving Contact Form Responses”

I just tried again, post is NOT listed as closed, but I got,

Sorry, comments are closed for this item.

    Weird.

I noted you probably gave the same advice I was trying to. Do you generally want problem posters to post a response: “YESS!! That fixed it! Thanks!!”

      Suggestion

    If so, in

"This is a free community support forum. Replies are not guaranteed. If you need professional email support, please purchase a SiteOrigin Premium license."

Just add, “Please tell us if we fixed the problem” Or have a posting etiquette sticky.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi VWFeature,

That’s really odd. I’m going to send a message to Greg about that.

That, or they can mark the thread as resolved (there’s a checkbox at the top of the post). Alternatively, if I know the issue/question would be resolved by my response I’ll mark as resolved.
