page truly full-width

10 years ago · Last reply by t_qwerty 10 years ago

Hey everyone,

I am trying to make a page truly full-width, so having an image fill up the entire screen from one side to the other.
On the theme I’m currently using it didn’t work, so i tried the same with different themes, and on a few it worked.

So i guess my question is, is there a way to have a page truly full width, even if the theme doesn’t naturally support it?

I downloaded the plugin “custom content width” by george stephanis, but changing the container width (to a wider or lower value) didnt seem to change anything.
I also googled to try to find a way to make my own template as my theme only offers “page with left sidebar” and “full-width page” (which isnt truly full width). I did make my own template, but as i am not into coding i didnt manage to figure out how to have the template change the width just by googling for some code lines.
My attempts at making a child theme with a different width also failed.

Do you have any recommendations?
Thank you so much in advance
kind regards

    Hi T_qwerty

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

unfortunately its only locally installed on my pc, to see if i am capable of building the site before having to pay for hosting services.

Thanks, this is the kind of problem we’ll need to inspect live in order to check out the code involved. If this is a custom theme, please, ZIP it and upload via the Add Media button. You can make it a Private Reply. If it’s a public theme, please, let us know the name so we can test with it.
