The page builder widgets are covering up the edit window and blocking for editing anymore. Added slider and feature widgets. Switching to editor the problem goes away but so do the features. Tried clearing cache and logging in and out, same problem.
Hi Webmastur
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
The problem seems to be that the SO Widgets are “previewing” on top of the edit page.
I disabled all the plugins and the problem went away. Starting with activating Page Builder, problem was not there. Activated SO Widgets and the problem appeared, so it is when the SO Widgets are activated that the preview/overlay problem occurs.
Thanks for your feedback.
Please, try testing with SiteOrigin Page Builder and Widgets Bundle activated and all other plugins deactivated. Next, switch to a default theme like Twenty Fifteen and retest the problem. If the problem persists with only Page Builder, Widgets Bundle and Twenty Fifteen activated, then, please, take a screenshot of the challenge and post it here on the forum so we can take a look.
I did what you suggested with Twenty Fifteen. Page Builder and Widgets Bundle, everything was fine. I reactivated the ColorMagPro child theme and all was fine. In activating the plugins one by one I found that the culprit causing the problem was Admin Branding plugin v1.1.2 by Gabriel Nordeborn. The problem occurs and reoccurs when activating and deactivating the plugin. Everything seems fine now. So the conflict is between PageBuilder/Widgets and Admin Branding. Have not contacted Admin Branding yet.
Super, really glad to hear you’ve made progress. I’ll log a bug report on our side. Hopefully, you can find another plugin to do the same job.
