Page Builder Prebuilt Layouts – Debug Mode Not Generating Array

10 years ago · Last reply by Greg Priday 10 years ago

I’m using the latest version of Page Builder and want to include Prebuilt Layouts in my theme.

I have followed the documentation for how to turn on Debug Mode to generate the commented HTML code with the array needed to include as a Prebuilt Layout.

I am not able to find the generated layout code as described. I have enabled and disabled Debug mode in the wp-config.php file and that doesn’t seem to change anything when I view the page source.

I am running the latest version of WordPress. This is a multi-site network, which I’m not sure if that is relevant.

Now I see that in the latest version of PageBuilder there is an option to export / import a .json file with an array, which in theory should work to manually import the Prebuilt Layout, but ideally I want to include this with the theme I am building. I’m assuming this is not the array needed as it doesn’t resemble the array format shown in your documentation. (It does not have the required fields.)

Where can I find the code I need to include this with the theme? Why isn’t it showing up?

Is there a change I am unaware of that hasn’t made it into the documentation yet?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ron

    Hi Ron

We’ve actually heard from other people who haven’t been able to get the data to display. I’ve never been able to figure it out, but it still works on my side and it works for the majority of people. So there’s some edge case we’re missing.

Now that you mention it, being a multi site install might be what’s causing this to not work properly. Is there any way you could test this on a normal WordPress install?

That said, I’d really like to migrate over to a system that uses standard layout export json files. Ideally I’d like to create an experience that’s a lot more like the prebuilt layouts directory. Another option would be to have theme specific layouts hosted on our prebuilt layouts directory.
