Page builder plugin having issues with shortcode from theme on homepage

Hello,

First of all, I’d like to say I love your plugin. I use it on all my projects and it always gives me the look that i want.

Now, I have this project for a real estate site (office space). I have purchased Javo House WP theme from themeforest and i have started customizing the site. Now i am trying to create a home page and of course i want to use your plugin for all the pages. The issue is that the site has a property sections, and to display properties you have to use a shortcode. Now when i use the shortcode, i get issues. Let me give you a run down of some things i’ve done and their result :

If i add the shortcode to the page directly (no widget, text/html or tinymce), it will display the properties
If i add the CORRECT shortcode to the page via widget (both text/html or tinymce), it will give me a fatal error that reads : : Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 100581 bytes) in on line

Fatal error/home/**** (changed for safety)/public_html/wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels/siteorigin-panels.php675

In this case, if i try to INCREASE the memory size, it just keeps asking for more. I increased to 150MB and still it asked for more, sometimes it just goes blank. From what i can tell, it pulls the data correctly but it goes into a spiral, repeating the same property until it runs out of memory. I think this because if i intentionally change the shortcode, it will give me text of the property but will repeat it until it runs out of memory.

If i add the INCORRECT shortcode to the page via widget (both text/html or tinymce), it will not display on homepage and also mess up the page (make the slider disappear).

I get error codes, one for site-origin.php file with line 675 and another pointing to a settings file (cant remember which but i can probably replicate).

I have contacted the theme developers, they have inspected and are saying their code is fine and are saying issue is in my hosting, which is not true. Either their code is wrong or something from plugin side. I have searched the forums, and i saw some people having issues with this sort of thing. Keep in mind i tried both tinymce and text/html plugins and i have enabled shortcodes in widgets via settings file in (i had a similar issue before but this fixed helped me there).

Please, i need to finish this project soon but i cant proceed further. I do not possess the skills to properly make a home page without page builder. Please help. I can provide access if you want to take a look. We can have a skype session if you want.

awaiting for your reply.

Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi R

    Thanks for running Page Builder.

Page Builder is compatible with most plugins and themes. There are however, especially in the plugin case, those that aren’t compatible. This sounds like one of those instances. At the moment, given the free nature of Page Builder and our small team, our only recourse is to ask users to request that plugin and theme authors work towards compatibility. In the event that there is a definitive part of Page Builder that an author feels is incorrect or causing the issue, we are open to discussion and have in the past worked with willing authors to resolve issues.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. So do the theme devs need to make it compatible with plugin or does the plugin need to be compatible with the theme? I of course cannot force anyone to do anything but I need to get this solved somehow. Would you be able to contact the theme devs and work it out or vice versa?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks

      Hello,
I am having the same error message. I can stop by de-activating pagebuilder. Did you resolve your issue?

    Hi, I Work Here

    For sure.

Wherever the shortcode is being generated from, that’s where the compatibility issue lies. So if it’s produced by the theme as a built in feature then the theme and if it’s produced by a plugin then it’s a plugin issue.

Unfortunately at this stage, given our setup, and the current nature of Page Builder, developers would need to work to get their products compatible with Page Builder. In the event we can help we’ll do our best to do that.
