Page Builder plug-in activated, but Not showing on page

By rrp1664, 8 years ago. Last reply by rrp1664, 8 years ago.

Hi,
I have the Page Builder downloaded and activated on each of the pages on my site (www.crossfitblau.com), but when editing the/each page it does not show the tab (Page Builder).
So, you know that I’m using Mac and have updated to El Capitan.
Do you believe it could be a conflict with the operating system or browser compatibility (Google Chrome and Safari).
Thank you.
Regards,
Rob Pinto

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hey Rob

Head over to Settings > Page Builder and ensure that “Pages” are enabled.

    Hi, I Work Here

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks again for your help and attention.

I did just that and the one that is causing the issue is: SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.

I had Page Builder by SiteOrigin and also the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle and for some strange reason the second one was causing the conflict.

    Is that normal?

    Thank you.

    Hi Andrew,

    It’s me again, sorry.

Actually, the conflict is being caused by WPML (String Translation Plug-in).

My site is in English and Spanish, hence the need I had to download it.

I have had some conflict problems in the past with WPML, but on this occasion I did not think it was it causing the problem.

Anyway, if I notice any changes/conflicts with any other plug-ins I have installed, I shall let you know.

Thank you ever so much for your attention and help.

    I very much appreciate it!

    Regards,

    Rob Pinto.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hey Rob

    Please, try testing as follows:

Activate Page Builder and Widgets Bundle.
    Activate WPML.

Deactivate everything else. Does the issue persist?

    Hi, I Work Here

Is the String Translation plugin a standalone plugin from WPML? We’ve tested with the main WPML plugin in the past, is this one of their addon plugins?

    Hi Andrew,

Yesterday, I forgot to apologise for my mistake, hence I do it here and now: I am sorry I first thought that the conflict was caused by the SiteOrigin Widget Bundles.

Only later, after conducting a second check I realised that it was in fact being caused by WPML.

I am now on the process of reading the instructions for WPML and Page Builder, but I must say though that I do not know how can this be happening since the pages in question are NOT translated. I mean, I am not using WPML on them.

I must check into it very carefully.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Hi, I Work Here

Officially, WPML is compatible with Page Builder. We went through their compatibility program a while ago.

To eliminate the chance that another plugin is involved, try testing with only WPML, Page Builder and Widgets Bundle activated.

    Hi Andrew,

    How’s things?

Just to keep in the loop.

I did just what you suggested me, but when activating WPML the whole site crashed to the point that I was not even able to access WP to gain access to my dashboard.
I had to call Hostgator and they deactivated all the plug-ins, so I could gain access back.
It is the String Translation plug-in. I have the premium version, so WPML.org advise me to download the following into my WP site: WPML CMS NAV; WPML COMPATIBILITY TESTS TOOL; WPML MEDIA; WPML MULTILINGUAL CMS; WPML STICKY LINKS; WPML STRING TRANSLATION; WPML TRANSLATION ANALYTICS and WPML TRANSLATION MANAGEMENT.
Now, I do need the String Translation plug-in activated otherwise my site won’t be in 2 languages, hence I have decided to deactivated it every time I need to work with Page Builder and then activate it back on once my work is saved.
I understand this may not be the best or most professional way to work, but at least it is a way around it.
Regarding the crashing of my site when WPML is activated, I should think that my theme (FIT by Dany Duchaine) is not compatible with WPML.
To make things worse, the WPML support forum is NOT user-friendly at all!!! I can not even find a way of submitting a thread like I did here.
I shall keep you informed should any other issue arise, ok?
In the meantime, thank you so much for your help and attention.
    I really appreciate it!

Thank you and have a great weekend!

    Regards,

    Rob Pinto

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hey Rob

    Thanks for the update.

Are you definitely using the String Translation plugin? I think that’s for theme strings. The page translation is handled by the core WPML plugin.

Next question; can you send me a copy of the String Translation plugin in ZIP format? If it’s hard for you to download it then no worries.

    Private Snippet

    Thanks
