Hi,
I am in a bit of a mess. On my computer I was attempting to paste some FASC shortcode buttons into a page using the Page Builder visual editor. I was unable to save the changes, and the web browser timed out, so vacated the editor. Now, when I want to edit a page, I can enter the basic Editor, but not Page Builder. Page Builder is also not showing up as a clickable link in the Editor. This is happening when trying to enter the editing section of all my pages. In fact the Editor is now taking many seconds to display the contents of a page.
I’ve tried deactivating the shortcode plugin, and have deactivated and reactivated Page Editor.
I’ve also logged in to my site via my iPad and can see that the Page Builder editor is there, and have been able to enter it.
I don’t know whether this is a temporary computer/site glitch or not – sometimes these problems in attempting to save pages disappear after waiting awhile (e.g. overnight, or in clearing the web browser cache – although the latter hasn’t worked, yet, this time).
Last night I used the Updraft plugin to back up my site. Should I attempt to restore that backup? The files were zipped to my computer.
The site is being built, and is in a sub-domain. My intention is to move it into my main domain when it’s ready, which at present contains an old, outdated site that I want to remove.
– Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi RMS1

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

Yes, I did disable the two plugins that I thought were the cause,
because they were both active on that page. It didn't make any difference. I've noticed a number of times in the past that memory seems to be a factor in causing a slowdown in Page Builder
(especially when writing text) – or is my computer the problem, which is quite new. I think in this case I was trying to carry out some memory-sucking activities with re-sizing images, building columns and adding buttons in shortcode, and constantly saving and updating. I closed it all down, logged out, and didn't touch it until the next day. I logged in on a different web browser (Mozilla Firefox),
deleted the columns and buttons from the page, and although it now takes a few seconds to update, and you are not sure while waiting whether it will or not, it all seems to be working OK now.

Also, I have column and button shortcode on other pages, but not together on the same page, so there is no potential conflict.

    Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear you’ve made some progress. With regards to memory, consider reaching out to your hosts and asking them to increase your site’s PHP memory to 256 if it’s not at that amount already.
