I’m setting up a new website using the BuddyPress plugin and prefer to have my WP Menu bar show at all times for easy login/registration. The “Edit Home Page” button shows up when browsing the home page even for a guest session, presumably because it’s assumed ordinary users won’t see the admin bar in most cases. Is this an intended feature? Would it be possible to change behavior such that the link displays for Administrators only?
Thank you,
Dan
Hi Dan
It looks like you’ve uncovered some unintended behaviour. Guest users should not see the Edit Home Page button. We’ve logged the issue and will hopefully get this fixed in the next update.
Sorry about that!
Thanks, Greg.
No worries, I know I’m forcing some atypical stuff on my end, but updates will be useful to other BP users. Thank you for the cool plugin.
Thanks Dan. Bug is confirmed as logged on our side. We’ll attend ASAP.
Go to /wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels. Go to line 834. Replace the ‘||’ with ‘&&’, and it should fix the problem.
Thanks mmoussa.
Can you confirm for us. Where you still seeing the Edit Home Page link with Page Builder 1.5.4?
Yes, I’m using 1.5.4
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll re-log this on our side. Apologies for the hassle and thanks for posting your fix.
