origami with side panel

By ijane, 10 years ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 10 years ago.

I really like origami, except for not having a side panel. Can you suggest another theme of yours that would better fit my needs, or, do you expect to add a side panel to origami? This site only need a post, no pages.

    Hi, I Work Here

Origami was designed to be our ultra minimal theme. We decided not to make a sidebar available except for the footer because it allowed us to write leaner code and CSS. You’re right though, this does mean it’s not going to be right for everyone.

Clearly also has a clean minimal design and it supports sidebars.

Vantage is a very popular theme ours that supports sidebars. Maybe it’d be right for you.

Thank you very much. I am trying out the Vantage and find that I cannot change the heading to show mine instead.
So thought that I have to purchase some editing software, but it takes only pay pal. A bit stuck again.
To what extent can this Vantage be changed, the free version for now?

    Hi, I Work Here

You’ll find most of what you need in the theme settings. Navigate to Appearance > Theme Settings in your WP admin. You’ll be able to upload your own logo there (or remove the default one and just show your site title instead).

Thank you, but no it is not possible to delete the looping images that seem to be on a home page on its own and that comes with the theme. I have been to every setting I can find. I have my own banner on top and then this big loop advertising Vantage before my blog starts. It is not part of a menu setup, not showing the images anywhere. Please help, just one more time. Thank you very much. By the way, I did upgrade to premier.

    Hi

    Thanks for running Vantage.

To remove the home page slider set the slider to none at Appearance > Theme Settings > Home. Our full slider tutorial can be found here: https://siteorigin.com/vantage-documentation/getting-started/slider/

Thank you, I tried that but as I have problems finding where to put my header, that(my header) became minute when I did that.
I ended up deleting the demo.php file and hope that is okay too.
Sure I need to study this a bit more, and thanks again.

    Hi, I Work Here

The problem with doing that is that demo.php will be restored the next time you update your theme.

Check that Appearance > Layout > Masthead Layout is NOT set to Logo in Menu and is set to Default before setting the slider to None and there shouldn’t be any problems.

A month later, hi, how will I be able to find the order number I received when I upgraded to Vantage Premier?
Do I need a new number for a second use of Vantage Premium?
    Thanks, ijane

If you have access to your PayPal email address you can use this form: https://siteorigin.com/orders/ to retrieve your order number.

Your license is valid for a single production website, additional sites will need to be upgraded again. You can do so from as little as $5. We offer a multi-site license for $50.
