Non Video Posts

By mcfmullen, 10 years ago. Last reply by Richard Foleher, 10 years ago.

I would like to know how I can remove the Play button overlay from the slider for posts that have a given category ex: News.

Also, how do I change the phrase “Video By” to “Submitted By” on the single post page’s sidebar?

    Hi

    Please insert the following under Appearance > Custom CSS if you have Focus Premium or your own Custom CSS module if you have Focus Free, like the Custom CSS module included with Jetpack for example:

    /* Remove slider play button and expand link area to cover slider */

    .slider .play {
    top: 0 !important;
    left: 0 !important;
    background-image: none !important;
    margin: 0 !important;
    width: 100% !important;
    height: 420px !important;
    }

    Under Appearance > Theme Settings > Display you can turn off the post author appearing (Display Post Author). The Video By text can be changed under Appearance > Theme Settings > Video: Video By Text.

    Hi, I was interested in this too as we post both videos and standard text posts. Is there a way to apply this ad-hoc. For example, by default have the play button and in a new post that will be text only, remove the play button. That way we get the best of both worlds.

    Hi Richard

    Please open a new thread with a little more info, like urls of the example pages you’re talking about and I’ll be glad to assist.
