When I try to add a new widget or a new row when I’m editing my home page, it deletes all the home page formatting and screws everything up. It deletes everything I have on the home page except a few of the images from another carousel widget (but they are not in a carousel anymore). I don’t know what’s up, but it’s really messing with my plans for an awesome site. I am not even trying to do anything unusual – just using the plugin as normal and it won’t work.

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
Once you have all non-SiteOrigin plugins de-activated you might test like this:
1. Pages > New: Create a new test page.
2. Click over to Page Builder, click Prebuilt and clone the existing home page.
That way you can test with a home page clone vs the actual page.
