Is it possible to combine Page Builder with qTranslate?
Hi Branislav
We unfortunately haven’t done any testing ourselves but going on the feedback of our Vantage theme users I’m almost certain you aren’t able to. I have heard more positive feedback from users running WPML.
Kind regards
Andrew
With the shortcodes of qtranslate you can do many things :)

i use the shortcodes with pagebuilder without bug ;)
Hi Braun
Super, thanks very much for filling in the gaps there, much appreciated.
;)
Jonas Braun,
Thanks for this link. I am having some trouble however with using shortcodes within some of the PageBuilder widgets. Are you only using the general text widget? Sorry if I missed something in the tutorial.
Thanks!
Can you try using the Black Studio Visual Editor in place of the Text widget and let me know if there is any change.

I have the same problem. You can find a solution with the vantage premium theme? WPML is too expensive…
Hi Jonas and Luigi
As it stands, the Circle Icon Widget and the Vantage Headline Widget, that we know of are not able to process shortcodes. We hope to correct this soon. If you find any other widgets of ours that aren’t processing shortcodes, please let me know.
hello i am using shortcodes in the circle icon widget without problem ! You can see the result here. Are you using th good shortcodes ?
You can see the result here : http://www.tem3.eu
Andrew,
Yes those are the only two that I don’t have success with. I have had success with the Visual Editor with no problems. Thanks for suggestion and for the info about those two widgets not working.
Jonas, what are you referring to as ‘good shortcodes’? I am using “[:en]Name[:tr]başlık” for Turkish and English. Is that not the correct short code syntax?
Thanks,
Dan
Yes you are using the good shortcodes…strange
I don’t have had success with the Visual Editor. Visual Editor does not work with page builder.
Hi luigi, if you aren’t able to make Black Studio Visual Editor work with Page Builder in general please open another thread and I’ll assist there.
As Jonas said, using shortcodes like this: [:en]This Is A Headline Widget[:de]Dies ist eine Überschrift Widget I’m able to get translations working in the Circle Icon fields and the Headline Widget fields, I just tested this now.
Perhaps try disabling all plugins besides qTranslate and Page Builder and see if this might be a plugin conflict.
Hi, We’re evaluating Restricted Content Plugin – Free . Our WordPress setup iovlnves creating templates we create from scratch and only accessing shortcodes through PHP function, for example:Couple questions:1) In using this plugin, the approach was to put the function at the top of the .php page. I’ve tried both [restrict …] and [restrict]. But this doesn’t seem to restrict content when I select for Administrators only. Access from a different browser/sessions while not authenticated the page is fully viewable.2) For this option:Hide the excerpt of this post / page from the Feed?Is that supposed to stop the page from being listed when using this function: That would be something we need, Any help would sure be appreciated. We really want to use your plugin for a custom template implementation of WordPress. Thanks,Kevin
Hi Kevin
Please post this in a new thread and I’ll be sure to attend tomorrow (we’re at GMT +2 so signing off for the day).
Chat then. Andrew
Trying xili-language and till now good. No problem. qTranslate is true catastrophe because of his codes directly wired to each post… UOAAAAA… Awful… WPML – maybe, but pay for some basic function… ˈkʌm ˌɔ:n
Hi, not sure whether it should be made to work or not, but I kind of like the idea to add shortcode into the circle-icon widget. I am not a php expert but after a bit of fiddling I managed to get it to work. Basically I added a shortcode variable in the widget function and then copied the code for the text field. I replaced wp_kses_post with do_shortcode and added an extra input field to the widget editor. It can all be achieved by editing the widgets.php in the inc\ folder.
If anybody likes I can send/post my php file.
Cheers,
E
heumpje,
I would be interested in your php hack!

I’m somewhat afraid to use qtranslate. seems it doesn’t get updated well anymore.
Anybody has experience with the Polylang plugin in combination with the Vantage (Premium) theme?
Hi Jonas,
I was on your homepage and you could translate the menu, where in Menu did you add the shortcode?

here on the photo I tried it but its not working for me, I want to translate menu into russian, france etc
Ahhhhh I could solve it :)
add those code under Menu there where Home [:en]Home [:de]Start etc :)
thank you
Hi Junky
Thanks for sharing your solution.
All the best.
Hi,
I have the same problem, trying to make the circle icon widget for two language, using the mqTranslate plugin. Using short code in the “Title” and “Text” field when editing the circle icon widget (eg: Title: [:en]Title1 [:sv]Title 2) doesn’t work for me. Reading this thread it isn’t clear for me if it is supposed to work with only this (?), or if another php file needs to be changed, like in the solution outlined by heumpje? I am pretty new to webpage design, so I wouldn’t have a clue what to change in the widgets.php file…
Max, for translations, I used the polylang plugin. With this plugin, for example for the sidebar, I simply add one circle icon widget in e.g. English language, and there will be a setting “show only in English”. Then, I add the same button with e.g. its German text, and put the widget setting to “show only in Deutsch”. Well, yeah, now I got 5 languages, thus 5 copies of the same widget in different languages, but it does what it has to do.
Hello,
I have vantage theme and I want to use qTranslate plugin with page Builder content.
I made the configuration and settings process but I can’t put the content that I have in page builder in another language.
Could you help me? Is there any option to resolve this problem? We should have use another translate plugin?
Thanks,
Pedro
hello qtranslate is no more the good tool ..I have to change too much bug and no more update…I will use wpml now :)
Hello everyone. Indeed qtranslate doesn’t seem to be developed anymore but I’ve found someone that seem to be taking things from where original creators left them. I’m currently using this plugin.
It seems a nice solution and with no extra learning curve if you were using qtranslate before.
I didn’t check how Page Builder is working with it but I will shortly. If you have any other options for multi-lingual sites, let me know please.
Hi Yiannis
Unfortunately, qTranslate-X doesn’t appear to work with Page Builder. You might consider Polylang, that seems to work correctly for us in local testing.
Hello guys, SOLVED IT in a really simple fix.
1) First of all you must set “works in Single Language Editor Mode.” in advanced setting, as mentioned on qTranslate official page https://qtranslatexteam.wordpress.com/incompatible/
2) Install “Shortcodes Ultimate” plugin that permit to add custom shortcode also in Page Builder of SiteOrigin
3) add a “Shortcodes Ultimate” Widget at the beginning of each language you have to make with the shortcode of qTranslate ( for example [:en] , remember that this shortcodes not need to be closed ). See this image to understand how it works http://picpaste.com/Screenshot_fixing_Siteorigin_qTraslate_X-klHuoFFz.png
4) just remember to change the language at the admin bar of wordpress to change the Title of the page in the various lang.
Hope to be helpful,
Cya,
Graziano.
Hi Graziano
Really glad to hear you’ve made progress. Thanks for sharing your workflow with everyone here :)
All the best.
Hi, no prob Andrew,
I’m using your free plugins and themes, it’s the minimum try to help your community. ;)
Btw switch languages make some problem (the page remain block on a certain language) if you don’t add a close shortcode at the end of each page so:
Ultimate shortcode [:en]
your contents
Ultimate shortcode [:es]
sus contenidos
Ultimate shortcode [:]
Cya! ;)
P.S. if the page remains block add “?setlang=no” to the page URL to eliminate the bug
Example http://www.mysite.com/ continue to redirect me to /es/ → call http://www.mysite.com/?setlang=no
Awesome, thanks for the additional information, I’m sure others will find it super handy.
