more tag in page builder

11 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 11 years ago

Hi
I am working on a site with Elegant themes, chameleon. For the home page layout it allows you to pick a few pages for featured content blocks, but it is showing the entire page, and the widget blocks that look so spiffy in full page do not do well when crammed into a 1/3 column!
I tried inserting “more tag” in the first widget row/column, but no effect. Also tried using excerpts but while they came through in feature slider didn’t in the page view.
Is there somewhere I can put the more tag that will come through properly?

I may try and nudge them to another theme (one of yours), but our focus is setting up a CRM plug in; I found page builder and find it so easy for controlling page layout so hope we can use it here

thanks
katherine

    Hi Katherine

Elegant Themes have their own Page Builder plugin: http://www.elegantthemes.com/plugins/. Are you sure you’re using SiteOrigin Page Builder?

yes, using siteorigin – but maybe I should switch to their native one for this site – didn’t realize they had one.
still want to use vantage for another site I own, love what you’ve done.
    thanks

Ok, with you now. This has been requested before, unfortunately by default the more tag doesn’t take effect in Page Builder. The Post Loop (PB) widget which uses the available templates of the theme being used will utilise the more tag but only because it’s a regular post loop, the same as your blog page. Basically, you need some kind of post loop for the more tag to be applicable. Hope that make sense.

The Black Studio TinyMCE: http://wordpress.org/plugins/black-studio-tinymce-widget/, called Visual Editor once installed is our text editor of choice for Page Builder.

    Cheers,

In black-studio-tinymce i can’t use ‘more’. i want to show less text in the page till more is demanded by reader.
    and thanks.

      Hi millionhomes

That is unfortunately not possible in Black Studio at this time.

    Thanks Andrew,

So Quick to respond, That’s why i chose Vantage Premium and did well.
I am just month old in this, quite a green horn. I have installed siteorigin widget bundle and tinymce, I am using the Visual Editor available, in fact i don’t know if it is siteorigin or tinymce.

Anything else suggested but has to be easy.
