Dear support
When I insert a SiteOrigin Editor widget, I can click on “Add media” to open the media libary and select an image. Additionally in this view, I can filter the images by type, date and category (this a plugin functionality).
However, if I want to insert a background image via Widget Styles > Design > Background image, I don’t get the same media library filters as when clicking “Add media”. In the “media library” within Widget Styles, I only have the date filter, and not the type and category filters. In my opinion, there should be the same appearance of the media library including all filters as when clicking “Add media” …
Is this something I can change myself or could you fix that in a future maintenance release?
Thanks a lot
Chris.

4Hi Chrizzbee,
I’m unsure what’s adding the media categories for you (as that’s not a standard media feature), but the media type filters should really be present. I’ve logged this as a feature request.
Hi Chrizzbee,
Correction – media types are intentionally not enabled for the background image because only images should be selectable so there’s no need to change media type.
What plugin are you using to add Media Categories?
Hi Alex
Here’s the category plugin I use: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-media-categories/
Thanks for investigating!
Chris.
Hi Chris,
Thanks. I’ve logged compatibility with that plugin as a feature request.
