Messed Up Row Width After Upgrading

After upgrading PageBuilder, all my pages look okay, except the main page on my site. The row above a ‘SiteOrigin Hero’ row is getting squished to a very narrow width.

Any new test row I add to the top of the page gets squished. It’s only the first row that gets squished, and all the others are okay. The only way around it, for now, is to add an empty row at the top of the page, but that adds so much whitespace.

Has anyone had this issue? Any solutions? Or can one of the SiteOrigin guys take a look?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Zubin

That’s a really strange issue. I’ve had a look at the page’s code and still can’t figure it out from there.

Can you try following our general WordPress plugin troubleshooting guide? Here’s a video on the process:

The first thing to check is server-side caching through plugins like W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, etc. If you have any of these caching/performance plugins installed, try clearing their cache and see if that helps.

It might also be browser cache. Try clearing your browser cache, and then refreshing the page to see if that helps.

You can read more about this sort of issue on the WordPress codex.

Next, you can try running a plugin conflict text. You can start by disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi Greg,

Thanks for the response. It’s not a caching nor plugin issue, since I cleared caches and deactivated all plugins and it still had the problem.

It must be a theme issue, but it’s weird that it only started after upgrading PageBuilder, and it doesn’t do it on other pages, only on the page with the SiteOrigin Hero.

I rolled back the theme to an older version and the issue was still there. Trying some other themes I had messes everything up so much that it’s hard to tell if the issue is there or not, so I might just leave it as is (with an extra empty row) or find another theme to try it on.
