Menu Limits

Is there a maximum number of items that can be added to the menu (including sub menu items)?

I cant add any more and when I try the current menu is changed. I read a thread but the code below does not work.

.site-navigation {
z-index: 99999;
}

Any ideas?

    All sorted. Deleted child theme and now seems fine.
