Hi
I am using Vantage Free Theme and am glad to say that I am more than happy.
I am willing to upgrade to Pro version but have a question.
Can we have Mega Menu in pro version?
Tried with few plugins but either they are too complex or not working.
Appreciate your inputs and once again congrats for creating an amazing theme.
Vinay
Hi Vinay
Thanks for your interest.
We’ve seen customers use Uber Menu with Vantage but haven’t taken a close look. There wouldn’t be any change from free to premium in this kind of functionality so it would be best to find a menu plugin that works for you before upgrading.
I’m still looking for a good solution as well…I’ve tried all the free ones and they’re all buggy with Vantage theme. Have you heard any more reports about Uber Menu working? I don’t need all the fancy stuff, just a multi-column drop-down that works with hover OR click.
Thanks
Hi wiredpoet. Vantage can work with UberMenu. If you want to use the manual integration method I have a child theme ready:
https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/vantage-child-ubermenu.zip
Install via Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme.
It requires UberMenu to be installed and manual integration to be selected. I think that’s an option. Just working of memory here.
Test the child theme. If it works you’ll need to redo Customizer settings, an expected result of activating a child theme.
Thanks Andrew–I might just hold off for now–I really like the sticky menu aspect of your menu and they want another $5 to enable that… maybe you’ve have multi-column menu support by the time I’m ready to launch next year :) Still building for now..
For sure.
There are unfortunately no plans to roll out a multi-column menu for Vantage. Sorry I don’t have better news there.
Hi Andrew,
So I finally installed the child theme, deactivated Vantage mobile and search, and activated Ubermenu. The instructions at Ubermenu say to place some code in the child header.php file–there IS no header.php and even in the parent Vantage theme there is no menu in the header.php file…
After following all instructions, Vantage menu is still showing…

Ubermenu says to place this code before the nav parts of the theme, but in the child theme you shared this is all I’ve got to work with:
<nav role="navigation" class="site-navigation main-navigation primary “>
<form method="get" class="searchform" action="” role=”search”>
<input type="text" class="field" name="s" value="” />
2 ) ); ?>
In Ubermenu, it says to manually place this code, but I don’ t know where. http://screencast.com/t/Fr68IIDXdw
I see similar code in the example above in the child menu.php, but I event tried putting it there to no avail.
Please Help!

Ubermenu instructions:
http://sevenspark.com/docs/ubermenu-3/integration/manual
So should it actually look like this?
‘primary’ ) ); ?>
<nav role="navigation" class="site-navigation main-navigation primary “>
<form method="get" class="searchform" action="” role=”search”>
<input type="text" class="field" name="s" value="” />
sorry–I meant this:
The idea with the child theme is that the integration was already done. So all you need to do is switch UberMenu over to it’s manual integration method. There is a setting for that in it’s options panel.
Alternatively, if you’re using the regular Vantage masthead, we have this integration included in Vantage x.2.4 which is due to release in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks Andrew–
There isn’t a setting per se, it’s just a matter of not selecting the auto integration. Also, there is menu number assigned to primary, in my case 5, that didn’t match the code in the child theme. I did try setting it to 5, but that didn’t work either. I have uninstalled child theme in the meantime. Will wait for 2.4 to see if that solves the problem.
This is the uber menu control panel if using specific theme location method:
http://screencast.com/t/r48lLM78xYTI
which I also tried and didn’t work, or using the specific menu method:
http://screencast.com/t/P6OeqbjV
which it appears was coded into the theme, but mine was ‘5’, not ‘2’, as was in the theme snippet.
Like I said I tried to change the php code to ‘5’ but that didn’t work either…
Thanks ;)

Ahh right, sorry about the hassle. I guess that was specific to the menu I had running. If you can hang on for just a bit we’ll have this Vantage update checked and out as soon as possible.
i really do think a mega menu is important for your Vantage theme to look modern=more users=more paying customers for you. i’ve read your thread on MaxMegaMenu seems to not have worked (with full Responsive Theme on all devices?). Thread: Responsive menu showing in “normal” being a novice i really have no idea the conclusion/results of this link. i would want to try to free plugin to make sure it works then upgrade. honestly i would have already spent USD2000 on plugins that eventually i couldn’t figure out, didn’t do what i wanted, cause conflicts and never used but paid for.
i cannot imagine developing a site that doesn’t have a responsive theme on desktop and mobile. using Counterize stats i see mobile, tablets getting ready to pass desktop. so i wouldn’t want to invest the time in activating mega menus if it didn’t work on all devices. i would stick with the dated looking drop down menu that seems to be the default.
so i’m hesitant to purchase the uber mega menu plugin but this example is exactly what i think puts the finishing touch on a pro looking Page Builder – Vantage Theme site! http://wpmegamenu.com/
