Hi Laura
Thanks for reaching out.
This sounds like a core WordPress challenge. To begin with try:
1. De-activating all plugins and switching over to Twenty Fourteen or Twenty Fifteen themes. Re-test.
2. If the issue is resolved you can slowly start adding Vantage and plugins back with a test after each activation to find the problem.
If the issue doesn’t resolve at 1. then you know the theme and plugins aren’t part of the problem. You might start by running through the steps outlined here:

Hi Andrew,
Do you perhaps have any other suggestions – done everything listed below and still, WP is not saving my media…
Hi Laura
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
[email protected]
Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

Many thanks Andrew – your assistance will be greatly appreciated! Have added you as a site administrator…

Seems ok my side. Here is a test page:

Which browser and browser version are you using? Perhaps try another?
Hi Andrew,
I am rather confused as this is not working on my side. In addition to this WP site, I have three other sites which are working perfectly. The media files will upload in the library but when I go out of the library and back in, the files are no longer there. I don’t even see your picture in the back end of the WP site…
I actually don’t know how to proceed – I even deleted the WP folder and re-installed it this morning… Any idea why this is happening?
Sorry, not sure. Not something I’ve seen before. The image I posted is still in the Media Library, I just checked now. To rule out local computer stuff can you try another browser for us, even another machine if the browser test fails. Thanks.
Hi Andrew,
You’re a genius! The problem seems to be Chrome. The site is working correctly on Internet Explorer. I’ll see if there is a way around this…
Many thanks for your assistance! I really really appreciate your help!
Super, glad to hear you made progress.
I’m working in Chrome too so it might be worth clearing Chrome’s cache.
Thanks again Andrew – much appreciated!
For sure :)
Hi Andrew,
A quick question regarding the Vantage WP theme. Is there a way of linking a sub-domain landing page to a page on the website? In other words, when one clicks on a page link on my website, a landing page is opened up instead of a page on the actual site…
You won’t normally find that kind of functionality built into a theme. You’d need a plugin to handle this. Something like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-fancybox/ which can handle an iFrame. You’d open your landing page up in an iFrame in the lightbox.
Many thanks Andrew J
No problem :)
