Masonry Layout problem

By ortica3, 9 years ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 9 years ago.

Hi. You’ll excuse my novice question but I just started using WordPress 4.1 (on my own Mac, using MAMP) and downloaded the free Origami, along with the Page Builder and Masonry Layout plugins. When I edit the Home Page, press on Page Builder and try to add/use the Masonry Widget, it’s simply not there. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

GW

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi GW

    With Masonry activated, have you tried searching for the widget in Page Builder? Click Add Widget, use the search form top left and type Masonry Layout.

    Hi Andrew, and thanks for getting back to me. I managed to download it again, this time searching for so-masonry and it’s working fine. I didn’t know how to delete my thread here though, sorry.

    May I ask you another Masonry related question?

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for providing the link. By now, I’m intimately familiar with the documentation and it’s great.

    I’m trying to remove the “posted on…” that appears under the post name in the Masonry once you move the moust over it. I followed a thread of yours where you suggested putting in this CSS code:

    .so-masonry-container. entry-meta {
    display: none;
    }

    It’s not working. Any idea why? I’m using the CSS editor after downloading Jetpack and other CSS snippets do seem to work, so it’ s not a general CSS problem.

    Many thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Please try the following in your Jetpack Custom CSS page:

    /* SO Masonry Widget Hide Entry Meta */

    .so-masonry-container .masonry-brick .post-information .entry-meta

    Hi Andrew,

    Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but plugging in this code as is, saving and looking at the site, it doesn’t seem to do the trick. I can still see the “posted on date by username” inside each Masonry tile.

    Please send through a link to your site if it’s live and I’ll take a look.

    Thanks

    I’m afraid it’s not live yet. I will as soon as it becomes live. Many thanks for helping with this.

    Hi, I Work Here

    One time. Send through a link once it’s up and we’ll jump in. Hard to say what’s up now but should be straightforward once we can inspect the code.
