Limitation in Widgets?

By Philipp, 9 years ago. Last reply by Greg Priday, 9 years ago.

It seems like there is some kind of limitation within the page builder plugin.

I’m using the Mero Page Builder Plugin (in combination with Elano theme). WP 4.2.2. Everything up to date.

When i add a new widget (doesn’t matter what kind of widget) into any row, it simply disappears after updating the page. There is no error or warning. I’ve added 72 widgets on this page, but i can’t add any more. If i delete one widget, i can afterwards add another one. But no more then 72!

Curiously it’s no problem to add row’s or widgets to other pages. Unless i get to that point of that limitation, where the same problem occurs: after a certain amount of widgets/data has been entered, no further widgets can be added.

I’ve already checked my SQL database (no limitations).

What can i do to add more content? It’s the same Problem as described here:

Page Builder not saving anymore after a very long content

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Philipp

Thanks for reaching out. Before we dive in, please, could you confirm the Page Builder you’re using? Ours is the SiteOrigin Page Builder. Are you using the Metro Page Builder plugin? If so, that’s, unfortunately, not ours.

    Dear Andrew,
yes it is the Mero Page Builder. But they say it’s build up on your SiteOrigin Page Builder.

    That’s what they say:
“Hello, This might be the problem of siteOrigin plugin so please contact the plugin support as we are unaware of internal functioning of the plugin.”

I really understand that you are not responsible for their modified plugin, but maybe you have already had this kind of problems with your original plugin? Any tips? Or is there a way to debug the Pagebuilder? Since there is no error message, i’m completely lost….

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks for the feedback.

If SiteOrigin Page Builder has indeed been forked then the support for the plugin would fall on the developers that have forked it. It’s a little weird that they’d send you back to us (if indeed they have forked it). Apologies for the hassle.

It’s possible that the issue you’re describing is a memory related problem. You could try increasing your WordPress memory to 256. The easiest way of doing this is to email your hosts and ask them to increase it in your php.ini file.

If you go to Plugins does it say SiteOrigin Page Builder or some other word before Page Builder?
Page Builder is a completely free plugin. It’s available for forking and totally open source. I’d just like to confirm this point as it’s super tricky for us to support versions we don’t have control over. Hope you understand.

Like i already wrote, it’s the Mero Page Builder Plugin. I know this is not your plugin and you are not able to support this version!
Therefore i really appreciate your help! Thanks for the hint with the WordPress memory. I will ask the admin to increase this value.

    Hi, I Work Here

Cool thanks for clarifying. Memory would be my guess. Hope you’re able to get it sorted.

    All the best.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Philipp

As far as I know, Mero Page Builder is based on a very old version of our Page Builder (from before our 2.0 release). This widget limitation did come up with SiteOrigin Page Builder quite some time ago – that thread you mentioned for example is over 1 year old. We have, however, since fixed this.

I’m not 100% sure how I fixed it, but you can tell the developers of Mero that this is a limitation they should be able to fix in their fork. Hopefully that helps :)
