Lightbox Plus Colorbox stopped working

Hi Guys,

The Lightbox Plus Colorbox plugin just stopped working. I have tried deactivating all plugins, reinstalling the Lightbox Plus Colorbox plugin, deleting the page with the photo gallery and recreating it . Reinstalling wordpress . Nothing has worked.

The only other thing that I would like to do is reinstall the vantage theme without losing my work. can I do that ? . I thinking that the theme may have been corrupted as I was trying out a number of plugins.

I have tried other lightbox plugins and they seem to work fine. However, I would like to continuing using the Lightbox Plus Colorbox. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Rashid,

    You can try to reinstall the theme by changing the name of the folder and then uploading it again. After you rename the folder, follow the instructions here to upload manually http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes#Adding_New_Themes_Manually_.28FTP.29
    It is always good to make a backup of your WordPress site before.

    Thank-you for your response. The good news is that the vantage theme was not corrupted and I did not have to reinstall it.

    I deleted lightbox plus colorbox one more time and reinstalled it. I noticed that all the lightbox settings’ boxes were blank. Not a single value was set. The settings boxes should normally contain default values. I reset/re-initialised lightbox settings and the default values appeared in the setting boxes. With the default values set, lightbox started to work once more. There definitely seems to be an initialization problem somewhere, probably in the plugin.

    I have not noticed any other issue with Lighbox plus colorbox.

    By the way, i tried other lightbox plugins but NONE was as good and flexible as the Lightbox plus colorbox. Good job by the developers. I will drop them a line.
