Lazy Slider Loading

Hey, i really love SiteOrigin. But the only problem i have is that the “SiteOrigin Hero” loads very very slowly.
All images have only 80 to 100kb with some text. The whole page content loads very fast and after 1 or 2 seconds the slider appears.
Thats not a good user performance. I hope you can help me out!

Thank you very much and best regards,

Basti

    Hi Basti,

    Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Hi Basti,

    Okay so the hero widget is loading after the page has loaded is basically unavoidable due to how JavaScript works (it can’t load any sooner). We’ll look into ways making this look a little less abrupt but that’s sadly not something we can assist you with at this time. Based on your setup, your best option at the moment would be to set a height for the widget to prevent the content jump. Please open the Hero widget and head over to the widget styles sidebar. Open the Attributes settings group and set the CSS Styles field to:

    height: 700px;

    Save. How does that look?

      Hey Alex,

      for a fallback solution would that be okay. I will wait for a other solution from your side. Thank you so much for providing the community so a good tool!

      Best and kindly regards,

      Basti

    Hi Basti,

    Unfortunately, no. This will require a major update so it’s sadly not going to be released for quite some time due to the overall complexity (specifically, with how many things can go wrong – which we need to account for and prevent) of such a change.
