Latest update broke Google Maps widget

The latest plugin update (1.8) seems to have broken the Google Maps widget.
Multiple errors were being generated including missing API, multiple API requests, and location problems.
Reverting to 1.7.2 completely resolved the issue.

Site is running latest version of WordPress (4.7.2) without any other plugins that make use of Google Maps API.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Alhadro

This problem sounds like it might be a caching issue. The first thing to check is server-side caching through plugins like W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, etc. If you have any of these caching/performance plugins installed, try clearing their cache and see if that helps.

It might also be browser cache. Try clearing your browser cache, and then refreshing the page to see if that helps.

You can read more about this sort of issue on the WordPress codex.

Thanks, I actually disabled completely the caching plugins the site was using and checked in a few completely cleared and fresh other browsers and still saw the problem, but its certainly possible a server-side cache didn’t get cleared. I appreciate the response. I’m going to stick with 1.7.2 for now just to be safe but I’ll re-check on the next version.
