Hi!
I bought premium Focus theme and installed SiteOrigin Builder but can’t understand how I could make custom Homepage with header slider such as at default Focus Home page. Is it possible to do? Or I need to change code of default Focus Home page to insert here some sort of layout and widgets?
I would appreciate any suggestions or advices. For example, how to make the ability to manage home page using SiteOrigin Builder plugin just as it can be done in Vantage theme.
Hi Dmitriy
Thanks for the wait.
It’s possible to create a Page Builder run home page in Focus but unfortunately not with the slider. To do this you’d create a page called Home, set the page template to Full Width and finally set Settings > Reading > Front Page to home.
The Post Loop widget will replicate the regular home page loop but unfortunately, the slider isn’t replicable in this way.
Sorry I don’t have better news.
Hi Andrew. Thanks for reply.
In this case, the page lacks of features. But maybe I could change template for custom home page and insert some sort of slider or just single image manually.
Give this child theme a try:
https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/focus-child-home-pb.zip
Install from Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme.
Then go to Pages > Home and set the Page Template drop down to Full Width – Slider.
Hope that helps :)
Great job Andrew, thanks.
But I’ve already done everything I wanted to do using the front-page.php :)
Maybe you could help me with another problem. How could I add slider to blog page? By the way, it seems there is no blog page in the Focus theme. When I browse category page I see a blank space instead of a slider.
Oh, I think I figured out it myself. Thanks for code example in Focus child theme ;)
Ahh perfect. In that case, please ignore my child theme.
A quick reminder that theme updates overwrite the theme folder so a child theme should be used when editing theme files.
Any page can be assigned as the Posts page from Settings > Reading.
Awesome :) Glad to hear you made progress on this.

Thanks, I knew it. I’m using my own child theme based on Focus Premium.
Awesome :) Thanks for the feedback.
All the best.
