Inked Accordion no longer editable

By krousen56, 8 years ago. Last reply by Alex S, 8 years ago.

We use Inked Acocordions throughout our site. For example: Our Contact page. The rendered accordion works perfectly. The html and data in the database are fine.

The problem is we cannot edit the accordions in the admin. The Inked Accordion widget displays, but when you click the Edit link, all we get is the loading spinner. The content of the accordion never appears.

Is there a way to fix this? Do other developers have the same issue?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Krousen,

Do you currently have Wordfence installed?

    If you do:
This is likely a WordFence issue. The issue is that it’s initially very strict so things like the Learning Mode do definitely help in resolving issues like this one. However, if you want to “skip” the learning process and just use your widgets you can do so pretty easily. Go to the affected widget and open it up, don’t get “blocked” yet. Instead open up another tab on WP AdminWordFenceLive Traffic and filter it by blocked traffic. Then make an adjustment to your button widget and you’ll get blocked. Go back to the Wordfence tab and press the whitelist param from FireWall button. This is 100% safe as the contents of the field are not at all close to what would be required for an XSS attack. (it’s really quite odd it would even suggest such a thing…).

Let me know if this helps.

    If you don’t:
This is very likely a plugin conflict. Could you please try a plugin conflict test? Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    Hi Alex S,

Thank you for the amazingly quick response! We aren’t using Wordfence. We have cleared our caches, too. I hate to turn off any plugins, because this a live site.

I tried the Inked Accordion on a demo site, and it worked perfectly, so the issue is with our installation.

In the Console, I get this message: “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)”

So, the problem my be the sever. When I ping it, I get 100% packet loss. When I run a traceroute, It stalls somewhere in Florida.

These might the reasons or contribute to our misery. We’re going to try LiveMesh’s accordions. A quick test seems to work.

We’ll try turning off the plugin conflict test, but this will have to wait until the evening hours when traffic is down.

    Stay tuned…

    Regards,
    Krousen

    Hi Krousen,

That’s fine. Let me know what your tests reveal and I’ll be more than happy to lend a hand further if able.
