I cant change anything on my footer

Hello ive install wordpress and vantage, i make some changes but when im trying to change something on the footer it wont happen. I havent pay for the theme but if im on the code and i make some changes they must appear on the website right? Whats happening?

    Hi Jose

    Footer widgets can be updated from Appearance > Widgets. Copyright info can be updated from Appearance > Theme Settings > General > Site Information Text.

    Perhaps you can send through some further info. Have you added or removed a widget and that change is not reflecting on the site? If so, please send through a url.
