On my website: https://netherplay.nl i would like to display a full screen video on the homepage. On my computer it works fine, but when switching to mobile or tablet view i get a huge white space under my video. how can i solve this?

update: when navigating to: customizer–>general–>backgroundimage i can set a background that fills the white space mentioned before.
so conclusion is that it has to do with the actual ‘background’ of the theme. Can i disable it somewhere? I need my video to be fullscreen and responsive.

This is likely a query best suited for your theme author. Unfortunately, SiteOrigin doesn’t have any involvement in the setup you’re working on.
Your video is resizing proportionally, the height is reduced as the width is reduced to prevent distortion. I’m not exactly sure which WordPress block is being used. A block that allowed you to set your video background to “cover” with a height of 100vh would allow full screen in all resolutions but your video would have to zoom as the resolution (screen size) decreased. Whether this is is possible depends on the available settings in the block you’re using.
You could perhaps give the SiteOrigin Hero Widget try. The Hero supports backgound videos. A full screen Hero tutorial can be found here. The SiteOrigin Hero is available in the Block Editor via the SiteOrigin Widgets Block which is available if the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle is installed.
