How to show a link in a lightbox

Hi,

I’d like to post links to external sites in a lightbox. I see that you can display an image in a lightbox by adding ‘lightbox’ in the Link Rel field. However, it appears not to be possible to do this with a page link. Is there a solution to this problem?

Any assistance would greatly appreciated.

    Hi Will

    Thanks for your question.

Which plugin are you using to handle the lightbox?

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I’m currently using Responsive lightbox by dFactory ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/responsive-lightbox/ ) although I have tried a number of others.

I’m not really sure what the problem is as I have the RSS Multi Importer plugin installed and it displays each story in its own lightbox perfectly. I might add here that I have a number of WordPress sites running with the same theme ( Suffusion ) and without RSS Multi Importer so there’s no conflict there.

I would really appreciate any advice to solve this problem.

    Thanks,

    Will

Thanks for the further info. If you’re adding the page link via a Text or SiteOrigin Editor or Visual Editor widget then you should be able to manually add the link rel in. Have you tried doing that?

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for your reply and suggestion. I have tried a variety of ways to trigger the lightbox using rel_lightbox in both the SiteOrigin Editor and Visual Editor but have had no success so far. Could you give me an example?

    Thanks,

    Will
