How to make site Not full screen?

I am using Vantage 1.6.1 and want to make it so that the site itself is no wider than 1080px. The slider on the homepage resizes the images in a weird way when it is larger than that.

How and/or where would I control the site width in the theme? Or do I need an additional plugin to do this?

Please advise.
