How to make a post with a featured image

I can’t seem to get a post to look the same as the one in the demo.
When I create a post and put the image in the body it won’t turn up in on the first page or in the black part of the post page when I click in to it. What am I missing?

The slider only display the sample images so I guess there is a trick to add a the featured image to a post.

Seem to have found it. There was a way to select an image down to the right (if I scrolled down).

But some posts display the selected image twice. Once above in the black border and once to the right of the text in the post. Why is that?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi David

That’s right, you need to add a featured image per post: http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/.

To disable sidebar images head to Appearance > Theme Settings > Sidebar: Sidebar Images and un-check that setting.

    Hope that helps.
