Hi, I’ve added a couple of required fields to my SiteOrigin North site. I want to change the messages which pop up if the fields are not completed or completed incorrectly. Can anyone tell me how to do this please?

Any help, much appreciated.

Best wishes, Stuart

    Hi Stuart

    Thanks for reaching out.

If you’re using the SiteOrigin Contact Form you can edit each field and open the “Required Field” section to change the message.

    Thank you Andrew,

No, I'm not using the contact form. I'm adding a PayPal button but need the user to enter a MAC address at the same time in order to register a license for a product. Have managed to set the field as "required", and set it to expect a MAC address, including limiting to 17 characters and inserting colon between each 2 characters. Now I want the error validation messages to be more friendly – at the moment I have "Please fill in this field" if it is empty, and "Please match the requested format" if the user doesn't insert a full MAC address.

Thanks for the update. The error messages originate from the from. How is the form being added? If you can send a screenshot via imgur.com or provide further information about the form, we can try to advise further. In summary, the messages originate from the form, to changes the error messages, you’d need to change the form.

(If the form originates from PayPal then you’d need to try and find out if it’s possible to change a PayPal form’s error messages.)

Thank you Andrew. Yes, the form originates from PayPal. I'll have to find out if I can edit their form messages.

    Many thanks for your help.
