How to check to see if ship / ecommerce is working

Is there anyway i can test / check to see that my shop is accepting payment? I only have ecommerce enabled for Paypal – but is there a way i can put a fake sale through???

    In the end though I usually do a live test and then just refund myself or the person who did the test for me.
