What do I put into Vantage Custom CSS to fix this–change the color of background and foreground? I do not have Premium Vantage.

I see you have changed your current menu using Custom CSS in a plugin. the settings you need to change for the menu are mow in Appearance->Customize->Theme Settings->Menu. There you can change the background colour and hover colours for all menu bar elements including the search icon.

There is no such path in VANTAGE theme.
Appearance > Customize is as far at this goes.
Therefore, this info does NOT help me.
AND IT is not taking forever to hear back from SiteOrigin, WHY?

I do apologise, the option I pointed you to is only available in Vantage Premium. I have just had another look at your site and can see that you have now added Custom CSS to resolve your issue. Is there anything else you need help with.

Yeah, I did a Bunch of Google searches since your answer was not a solution — and lucked out by finding this fix…
What I am really concerned about is the next WordPress software update b/c the last one wiped out ALL OF my CSS changes on the navigation bar and tabs and search icon. What crazy kind of company is WP where their software updates can do this to a webpage!!??!!???!?????!!???
Is someone listening & avoiding that fiasco going forward?
