I was able to see how to use a font awesome font for a link. I have tried several different CSS updates to get the color to change on hover but I have been unsuccessful. I followed the below article for updating a link to use font awesom.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mark

    An alternative approach would be to use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/menu-icons/. Perhaps check that out for a larger font selection.

    For your setup right now, the following under Appearance > Custom CSS should set the font color on hover:

    .main-navigation li:hover [class^="icon-"] {
    color: #ffffff;
    }

    Hope that helps.
