Hot to get header to occupy full width of page

I have tried several things found in the forum but no luck so far.

I am trying to get an image in the header to occupy the full width of the page. Also is it possible to put my logo in the menu row? The logo is different than the image in the header.

    Hi Bob

    Glad to hear it. I assume you did this by setting the header background and then choosing the “Logo in Menu” logo layout?

    Thanks for your email. I appreciate your interest.

    I tried every combination of those choices but the header remained at 1010px instead of the desired 1080px. It’s confusing that the same parameters can be set in in appearance ->customize and in appearance->theme settings although appearance->theme settings seem to override the other.

    The only thing I found that worked was css using:

    body.responsive #page-wrapper {
       max-width: 1080px;
    }

    Btw I would like to have my logo at the top of the page and then an image as the header and the menu following. But I see no way to do it with Vantage as it currently exists. The only thing I have found is to go back to a graphics person (I am not one) and get them to add the logo to the header image.
