Hero widget – use custom sizes created by WP during upload

Hi – WP creates custom sizes and then some for every image I upload. I want to use one of those custom sizes in my Hero Widget but there isn’t an option to select the custom size when I add the Background image. Choose Media takes me to the Media Library which only contains the original uploaded image. Thanks for help.
