I realized recently that my hero images are no longer showing up. They are still there on the back end though. I read another thread where a user was experiencing the same issue and they were told to clear their cache. So I did that but they are still not working. Any other suggestions?
Hi Kaylee,
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?
Hi Alex,
Thanks for your help. Here are a few pages of the site which have hero images that are not showing up:
http://wildcarddance.com/agoura-hills-dance-studio/
http://wildcarddance.com/faculty/
http://wildcarddance.com/dance-classes/
Hi Kaylee,
This actually appears to be a plugin conflict. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
Hi Alex,
I will try this. Just to be clear… when you say “disable” you mean “deactivate” right? Not delete the widget all together? Thanks!
Best,
Kaylee
Hi Kaylee,
Yes, please temporarily deactivate all non-SiteOrigin plugins.
Hi Alex,
I tried this and it did not fix the issue. So I have reactivated the plugins.
Hi Kaylee,
Would it be possible for you to send me an export for one of the above-mentioned pages? To do this open up the page with the broken hero widget and click layout in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.
Here you go! https://u.teknik.io/NT98v.json
Hi Kaylee,
Unfortunately, the provided layout works for me without issue. This means there’s something on your website conflicting with the hero widget. To clarify, you disabled all non-SiteOrigin plugins, right? if so, are you using the latest version of Siteorigin Page Builder and the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle?
Interesting. Yes, that’s correct. I just disabled them all again just to double check. Cleared my cache and it still wasn’t working. A while ago the Events Calendar wasn’t working and I had someone help me out. I believe they added a code to fix it. So if something is conflicting with the hero image and it’s not any of the other plugins then maybe it’s the code that they added to fix the events calendar. I will have to talk to them and have them remove the code. Hopefully that will work.
Hi Kaylee,
It that person was someone from SiteOrigin, that was likely me. Can you please clarify the method of contact you contacted us with so I can check the previous conversation?
With that said, if I provided you code it would have been through a child theme or a snippet that would be added through Code Snippets. Both of these are easily disabled (disable the snippet/plugin or deactivate the child theme).
