Grey Circle Showing on Hero Image (Mobile Only)

By sean, 7 years ago. Last reply by Alex S, 7 years ago.

Hi guys,

I’m not sure if you can help me? I’ve added a video to the following page: http://growdigitalagency.co.uk/seo-companies-manchester/
and I’ve added an image to show on mobile devices. If you visit this page on a mobile you’ll see a grey circle/dot in the middle of my image and I don’t know where it’s come from? If I remove the image the page shows a black background with the grey dot still visible.

Have you any ideas how I can get rid of this?

Kind regards,

Sean

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sean

I just had a quick look at your website and I can’t seem to see the described issue. Do you still need a hand with this? If not, I’m sorry I wasn’t able to be of assistance.

If you do still need help with this, can you please send me a screenshot of what you see? We currently aren’t able to process email attachments so you’ll need to upload the image to an image hosting service like vgy.me or imgur. Also, can you please tell me what device you’re using to be able to replicate this issue?

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for getting back to me. The round dot only shows up on a mobile. If you visit the link from my original message on your mobile you should be able to see the round dot. It is in the main banner image, just behind the text.

    Kind regards,

    Sean

    Hi Sean,

Unfortunately, I’m unable to find the dot you’re referring too – I tried on an Android device an iPhone. Can you please send me a screenshot of what you see? We currently aren’t able to process email attachments so you’ll need to upload the image to an image hosting service like vgy.me or imgur. Also, can you please tell me what device you’re using to be able to replicate this issue? Are you able to replicate this issue on any other device?

    Hi Alex,

I've uploaded a screenshot from my phone, please follow this link to see: https://vgy.me/IPfIUO.png

If you look at the image behind the text, where it says 'search engine' you'll see a grey dot. This changes size if you pinch and zoom in.

It only seems to be a problem on mobile devices.

    Kind regards,

    Sean

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sean,

Ah, sorry, I didn’t see it as I was looking for something a little more apparent that that. Okay so this doesn’t appear on Android devices as far as I can see, only iOS. Can you please you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
