I wanted to use GTM with the Vantage theme. I looked for a plugin that would add the script to my site. Unless I got this wrong Google wants the code inserted at the top in the head tag and one just below the body tag. I found this popular plugin “DuracellTomi’s Google Tag Manager for WordPress.” It cannot do this. I wish the premium Vantage theme would have a place to add the GTM code in the customization setting and if it set it would insert the proper tag code in the right place.

Hi Mark,
Please install Insert Headers and Footers, then please navigate to WP AdminSettingsInsert Headers and Footers and add your Google Tag Manager code to the Scripts in Header field.

That is a nice plugin, but it does allow you to add a tag below the body tag as Google wants you to do. Plus Google has changed this before and if they change it again an update to your temple would manage that for us.
Hi Mark,
I’ll log this as a feature request but, unfortunately, you’ll need to use a third party plugin like the suggested plugin in the meantime.
I am a premium user. I love your company and products. I just wanted to suggest this so you guys can make even better products. It just seems to me GTM is very important feature of any good site and to have a theme that implements it will be a superior product.
