Getting Page Builder columns to work in a theme made from scratch

Hello!

I’m currently making a new WP theme from scratch (for probably my second time ever, so I’m fairly new to this), and it’s pretty basic right now as I continue to add more to the page templates and the functions page.

One of the things I’m trying to figure out is how to get the columns feature working in the Page Builder itself.

On the above page, the content box is meant to show three instances of “TESTING COLUMNS…” in three equal-width columns, but instead show each instance of the text below each other.

Are there certain base CSS classes I should be using, or are there specific base functions I would need in order to have the columns work? As I said, I started this from scratch, so I feel like I might be missing something which would enable the column feature to work.

Please let me know if you can help me out or if you need anything else from me! Thanks.
