Front cover image is not responsive on mobile

This is my very first time trying to create a website.

I use the Tesseract theme, and my front cover image looks very weird on a mobile – objects become very narrow. First I thought it was the size of the image that was the problem, but when I change the image to a smaller one, the problem is still there. I have looked at similar threads, but I did not find a solution that worked for me, but maybe I misunderstood some instructions.

Please help, thank you.
