I have a plug in called Smush Image but that doesn’t seem to kick in.
The other issue is that the Print Page plug in seems disfunctioning.
On a sample recipe page: https://www.marcygoldman.com/recipe-items/buttermilk-marble-sheet-cake/
it doesn’t print – it simply takes you back to logging in (which also doesn’t work) (my site is partly monetized – there are free recipes and pay recipes)
There are two plug ins for print:
Print, PDF & Email by PrintFriendly as well as Print Post and Page

Hi Marcy,
Smush Image (and similar plugins) are able to improve WordPress image compression but they can only do so much. Your images are at the point where the only way to reduce their file size any more than it currently is to manually resize the images – this will need to be done separately to WordPress. This isn’t something we can directly assist with.
Regarding the other issue, I would reach out to the developers of that plugin for assistance with this.
