I am trying to make the main page so that it has the slider on top and either no posts underneath or have the last 3 posts display and they all link to another site page instead of the automatically created link. Essentially I want to have the home page have some text and images with links instead of only videos. I have the upgrade I bought it because I liked one of the pages in your demo that had the large video on top and text underneath – simple and clean but I can’t get that on the home page. Thanks for your help.

Hi kasey
Thanks for reaching out.
The layout seen here: http://demo.siteorigin.com/focus/2013/02/20/ferrari-458/ is specific to posts and not pages. So unfortunately, it’s not possible to create that layout for your home page.
To get your home page looking like this: http://demo.siteorigin.com/focus/ but with three posts, go to Settings > Reading and set the blog pages show at most setting to “3”.
To get your slider working and posts displaying below your slider ensure you have posts added to your site and that each post has a featured image added.
If you need to read more on featured images, please, see: https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/
Hi Andrew – thanks for this. Yes I do know how to get the home page to display the 3 posts and use featured image. I suspected I might not be able to just do the text as it would look on a post page so instead I was hoping I could control the link. I post 3 images and want the links to go to other pages but the permalink cannot be changed and when I use a link in the body of the post it does not display.
Thanks for explaining. There is, unfortunately, no easy way from within Focus to achieve what you’re after.
You could create a static home page and use our Page Builder plugin to lay it out. The home page slider wouldn’t appear though.
The developers at Codeable.io might be an option. They are our recommended option for custom development jobs.
Thanks Andrew thought there might be another way I think I am going to workaround in footer widgets.
For sure, an alternative like that would be the way to go.
